The official launch takes place on July 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Serenity Park, where participants are invited to bring fresh flowers for a symbolic ocean ceremony. The evening will feature drumming, chanting, and singing, powerful cultural expressions that pay tribute to the ancestors and set the tone for a season of reflection and unity.

The main commemoration will be held on Emancipation Day, August 1, at Bufort Square. One of the most anticipated moments is the "Say Their Names" tribute, which honours the formerly enslaved men and women who laboured on the plantations in Vieux Fort, ensuring their stories continue to be remembered by future generations.

Throughout the celebration, the Cultural Development Foundation will host lectures, live performances, and the return of its popular historical treasure hunt, offering meaningful opportunities for education, cultural appreciation, and community engagement.
