Ghana recently attracted global attention when American YouTube star MrBeast visited the country and connected with Ghanaian content creator Wode Maya as part of a major philanthropic project.

When Did MrBeast Visit Ghana?

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, was in Ghana in September 2026 as part of his work on Abna Dakwa Village, a major community development project in Ghana's Eastern Region.

The visit was connected to Abna Dakwa Village, a nearly US$10 million development in Ghana's Eastern Region designed to support families affected by child labour in cocoa-growing communities.

The project includes a school for more than 300 children, teacher housing, a clinic, clean-water infrastructure, solar power, a marketplace and agricultural facilities. Students are also set to receive free school meals for five years through support from The Rockefeller Foundation. Read more about the Abna Dakwa Village project.
