The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has assured the creative industry that the long-delayed Kwadaso Creative Arts School project will soon be revived and completed.
She gave this assurance after inspecting the site during her two-day working tour of the Ashanti Region, where she visited several cultural, tourism, and creative industry locations.
Hon. Gomashie, who was joined by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, said she was “truly impressed” with the work done so far, even though the project is only about 50 percent complete. She noted that just as much work still lies ahead.
“First of all, I want to thank the regional minister for making it possible for me to come and see the facility and assess what has been done so far. What I have seen is impressive, but there is still about 50 percent more to go,” she said.
The minister explained that she will prepare a full report for President John Dramani Mahama to help speed up the remaining processes needed to finish the school.
She also mentioned that although she had not yet met the contractor, she had spoken with the quantity surveyors and engineers on site to get updates. “I am told the funding is from GETFund, so I will speak with the GETFund Administrator to understand the situation. Together with the Finance Minister, we will decide the next steps,” she assured.
